“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might,
Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; 24 But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:23-24
To understand today, we must start at the beginning, and our beginning starts with God. There is nothing you can possess in this world that surpasses knowing God. All the world’s wisdom, riches, and strength are not worth the first step toward knowing God. Our sufficiency is in Him, as is every vitality of our soul. He created us to complete us and to empower us.
As a newborn longs for the mother, so does each soul long for its maker. God wants you to enjoy all that comes with walking with Him. He is closer than your next heartbeat and longs for you to know that He loves you. Psalm 145:18-19 says, “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him.”
To the one who asks, “Where do I start?” Start by accepting Jesus as Lord. Only by following Jesus can you know God; you can read every book ever written about God and still have no clue who He is. Jesus said of Himself, “I am the way, the truth, and life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” There is so much more to life than you already know, and to see beyond what the world offers, you need to know God. Allow your soul to find its way back to its creator, because only there can it be satisfied.
